I'm very proud to announce The Wall, cowritten with the talented Anne-Marie Caluwaert, has won top prize in the Let's Make It Screenqwriting Contest for Best One Hour Drama Screenplay 2023-2024. The screenplay has previously placed highly in other contests around the world, securing seven quarter-final, two semi-final, and two final places.
The original feature version of The Wall, written in a hectic twelve days in 2016, made the Final Ten of Final Draft's Big Break Screenwriting Competition in the same year.
Set in 1962, The Wall depicts the life of Werner, a rebellious elderly man who constantly defies authority and lives a turbulent existence filled with vodka and grief. His life finally gains purpose when he chooses to lead a group of misfits in digging a tunnel from East Berlin to freedom.
Anne-Marie and I are very proud of this screenplay and hope all this success will eventually lead to an option for this brilliant historical comedy drama.
